President Joe Biden The White House has responded to the more than 500 anti-LGBTQ bills that have been introduced in state legislatures across the country.

Of that number, 137 of those bills have been introduced in Texas. On its official twitter account, the White House wrote, “In the face of this record number of anti-LGBTQI+ Bills, this Administration reaffirms its commitment to fightinng for the safety and dignity of the LGBTQI+ community.

We have your back.” Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre wrote on her twitter account, “Attacking parents THAT LOVE their kids for who they are isn’t who we are as a country. @POTUS won’t hesitate to call out this shameful behavior from elected officials.” A bill penalizing parents that support their trans kids passed in Florida and versions of that bill have been introduced in the Texas Legislature.
