RuPaul’s Drag Race star Carmen Carrera has opened up about the recent shooting she survived in Miami, Florida. On 7 May, a gunman entered the upscale nightclub, Gala Miami, around 4:00 am and opened fired on its patrons – which included Carrera, J Balvin and rapper Fabulous.
The devastating attack resulted in two women getting injured and the death of recording artist and producer Lowell Grissom – who passed away at Jackson Memorial Hospital from apparent gunshot wounds.
After finding safety, Carrera took to Twitter to recount her terrifying experience with a heartbreaking statement. “So I just experienced my first night club shooting.
Fabolouse and J Balvin were both in the building, it was a high end club,” she wrote. “As the entire club ducts down, I grabbed my girlfriends and jet out the door.
