Drag Race UK star Cara Melle has set the record straight on her absence from the season five finale. Spoilers ahead. For their last challenge of the season, the final three queens – Ginger Johnson, Michael Marouli and Tomara Thomas – were tasked with writing and recording an original verse for RuPaul’s song ‘Spolight: The Remix’.

In addition to flexing their lyrical and vocal talents, the queens were also told that they would be starring in a cat-burglar-inspired music video for the track.

After reflecting on their Drag Race UK journey with Mama Ru and Michelle Visage, the three finalists showcased their charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent for their final max-challenge.

Throughout the shoot, Ginger showcased her comedic chops while Tomara and Michael served drama and choreography. The video also featured the eliminated queens, except for Cara Melle, who was reported to be ill during episode nine.
