The big day for the organisers of Stirling's first-ever Pride festival is almost here, with the colourful main event set to hit the city tomorrow.A total of 19 performers will be on stage throughout the day, with DJ and producer Rebecca Vasmant and Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK star Kate Butch announced as the headline acts.Stirling Pride - which has been running in the city since September 14 - has seen a programme of more than 50 activities and events, with the main culmination in King Street tomorrow.Acts including Eyve, Megan Black, Emma Lynne Harley and Beat That will be performing on the event’s King Street Stage whilst acts such as Joe Goodall and Stirling Youth Folk Club will take to the Fubar Stage inside Fubar Nightclub on Maxwell Place. Both stages will have entertainment - as diverse as live music, drag acts, theatre, dance, cabaret, and comedy - running between 11am and 5pm.The event's guest of honour will be Olympic silver medal winning curler Bruce Mouat, who lives and trains in the city, and will give a speech to those in attendance.Clyde One DJ Grant Thomson will be in charge of the MCing for the King Street shindig. The event has been brought to the city following several months of hard work by a committee of local LGBTQ+ people who have worked incredibly hard to bring the event to fruition including fundraising, discussions and event management.Ahead of the Pride programme getting underway, Sam Reid, chair of Stirling Pride, said: “We have also been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm for Stirling Pride which has resulted in organisations, businesses and charities all over the Stirling area becoming involved in our extensive programme of events."We really can’t wait to bring this event to the city.”
