Seiter posted he was “surviving depression and anxiety with a smile” just four days ago. (Image via Instagram) Josh Seiter, who came to the attention of The Bachelorette fans on Season 11, when he was among the men vying for Kaitlyn Bristowe's love, has died at 36.
Seiter had struggled with his mental health, and the announcement of his death — which provided no cause — offered a suicide-prevention hotline.
The announcement read: (Image via Instagram) Seiter led with all issues of mental health, describing himself as “a suicide attempt survivor.” He battled OCD, Bipolar Depression, and GAD, writing recently that he had dealt with depression and anxiety since age 21: The intrusive thoughts from my OCD built up over time and eventually caused me to go into a dissociative state of endless depression and anxiety leading to derealization and a psychotic break.
I attempted suicide, was hospitalized, underwent electroshock therapy, and was re-hospitalized. Less than three weeks ago, Seiter was included on The Advocate's list of “15 Pansexual Icons to Celebrate Everyday” in the wake of Wayne Brady coming out as pan.
