Leland has finally launched his solo pop comeback. The singer-songwriter and producer has returned with the 80s-influenced piano-driven anthem Bad At Letting Go, which he wrote and produced with frequent collaborator Peter Thomas.
Leland said the track takes place “within the blip of time where a relationship has just ended but you and your now ex are the only people who know it”.
In his statement, he explained further: “You put a pause on processing the breakup and channel all of that emotion into a crisis induced dance where you feel everything and nothing.” Bad At Letting Go marks Leland’s first single as a solo artist since the Troye Sivan and Allie X-assisted Another Lover (2019).
Since debuting in the industry in 2011, Leland has become one of the most notable songwriters in pop, having penned huge tracks for stars such as Sivan (My My My!), Selena Gomez (Rare) and Charli XCX (1999).
