A sequel to the groundbreaking film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert has been greenlit. On 19 April, the director of the beloved 1994 movie, Stephen Elliott, shared the news during his interview with The Guardian Australia.
Adding to the excitement, the talented creative revealed that the original stars of the cult classic, Guy Pearce, Hugo Weaving, and Terence Stamp, are all set to reprise their roles in the sequel.
Elliott, who will serve as the project’s director, producer and screenwriter, also confirmed to the news outlet that the script is complete and negotiations are taking place with production companies and financiers.
When asked why he finally decided to make a sequel30 years later, the Easy Virtue director revealed that its the perfect time to make the film. “People have been screaming for me to do this for 30 years.
