Trixie Mattel has teased what the future could have in store for her after she recently opened her first motel in California.
Since appearing on Drag Race and ultimately winning All Stars 3, Trixie’s career has gone from strength to strength. From launching a makeup line to running some of the most popular drag YouTube series in herstory, the star recently opened the Trixie Motel.
The construction of the seven-unit establishment was the focus of Discovery+ reality series, which just aired its eighth and final episode. “With the new book, the new record, Trixie Motel, Netflix, the podcast, the tours, I was sort of like, I don’t ever want to be this busy again, to be honest,” she recently told British Vogue. “I’m so grateful, of course, and it’s honestly made me a better performer than ever, as I can never really get too psyched out. “If I just sat around all the time and then had one gig a month that was important, I would give myself an ulcer worrying about it, but you don’t really have time to reflect. “You do it, and as soon as it’s done, you go to bed and do the next thing.” The series about her motel was a huge success and featured guest appearances from the likes of Lisa Vanderpump, Zooey Deschanel and Leslie Jordan, as well as a number of Drag Race stars.
After having such a busy year, though, Trixie shared that she plans to take “some downtime” in 2023. She also confirmed whether or not another motel could be on the cards for her: “I’m just gonna do some DJ gigs near home.
