That meant joining every protest demo in Manhattan, and each year in June marching up Fifth Avenue in the Gay Pride Parade. On less pyrotechnic days, I stuffed envelopes and proofread flyers at the National Gay Task Force.
I wrote indignant letters to Time, Newsweek, the New York Times, TV networks,and other mainstream media when they ran homophobic articles.
