In our conversation Lausch and Teague open about the *ss-kicking ladies who made them want to kick *ss too, their childhood crushes that still linger to this day, and that time they braved a hungover Fire Island comedy show in broad daylight.A post shared by Zach & Drew (@zachanddrew)Is there a piece of media—whether a movie, TV series, book, album, theater, video game, etc…—that has played an important role in your understanding of queerness and the queer community?

Why does it stand out to you?DREW: Sailor Moon! Sailor Moon was my favorite show growing up as a kid and as soon as I started watching the Japanese dubbed version I was like… “Ok all of these women are gay for each other and they are beautiful and fighting evil at the same time.” I very much wanted to be a gorgeous blonde gay who fought for love when I grew up.

I also was madly in love with Tuxedo Mask. Sailor Moon never addressed the queer nature of the characters and instead they just were.
