South Lanarkshire’s first-ever Pride festival will take place in Hamilton next weekend, with a host of entertainment and attractions lined up for what organisers promise will be a “two-day extravaganza dedicated to celebrating the region’s LGBTQ+ communities”.
Former N-Trance lead singer Kelly Llorena will headline the town square stage, while Lanarkshire entertainer Edward Reid will compere the community stage on Quarry Street and welcoming dozens of musicians and performers.Celebrations begin with an evening of drag entertainment at the Town House on Friday, July 28, before the Pride festival – including a fairground and outdoor market – fills the streets of the town centre throughout Saturday.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The free festival will have three outdoor event spaces, with Quarry Street hosting the main events with a host of performances on the community stage from 11am, including local musicians the Michael Brawley big band, Hamilton resident and Starstruck finalist William Boyle, tribute act An Abba
