Bullish Kevin van Veen claims he has no regrets over quitting Motherwell despite getting abused by his own fans after drawing a blank with new club Groningen. The Dutch striker completed a move back to his homeland in the summer after an incredible final season for the Lanarkshire side.
He scored 29 goals for Well in all competitions and broke records with his run where he scored 14 goals in their last 11 games of the season.
On arrival at Groningen, he promised he would go one better and bag at least 30 goals this season in the second tier of Dutch football. But he's failed to score in his first three matches and revealed he's been a target for the fans' fury.
Van Veen said: "I've received a lot of negative messages from supporters on my phone, but I don't run away from that. A striker has to score goals and I haven't done that yet.
