In 2023, GLAAD expanded its work to include working with local LGBTQ communities and media outlets to increase representation in areas that most need it.

GLAAD News & Rapid Response Coordinator Jacob Reyes has led those efforts and through the partnership with Pride Frisco, is excited to continue to increase GLAAD’s presence in the state. “GLAAD is expanding our national work into Texas to ensure LGBTQ Texans are fairly represented in local and state media,” Reyes said. “Through these efforts and partnerships with LGTBQ organizations like Pride Frisco, we can accelerate acceptance in the Lone Star State.” The annual Pride Frisco Festival celebrates the LGBTQ community across the Dallas suburb and all of the DFW metropolitan area.

Past speakers include Sara Cunningham, founder of Free Mom Hugs, Mandy Giles, founder of Parents of Trans Youth and more. Pride Frisco was founded by husbands Jon and Justin Culpepper, who are working to bring an LGBTQ community center to Frisco. — David Taffet Pride Frisco announces media partnership with GLAAD was first posted on August 6, 2024 at 2:00 pm.©2021 "Dallas Voice".
