However, one song off Short n’ Sweet that has captured the attention of LGBTQIA+ listeners is ‘Slim Pickins’ – with many claiming that it samples the unforgettable Grindr notification sound.
The music moment allegedly takes place during the outro (2:17 mark), while Carpenter sings: “And since the Lord forgot my gay awakenin.'” One listener on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: “DID I JUST HEAR THE GRINDR NOTIFICATION IN THE BACKGROUND OF SLIM PICKINS???
