Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour sent his congratulations to the squad and staff as they were confirmed Premier League champions for a third straight season.

City were confirmed as champions on Saturday evening, with their only title rivals Arsenal losing at Nottingham Forest. The squad were together at the club's training complex to watch the game at the City Ground, with Taiwo Awoniyi's goal damning the Gunners to consecutive defeats and ending their title hopes.

A much-changed City side cruised past Chelsea on Sunday's coronation, with Julian Alvarez scoring the only goal of the game inside 12 minutes.

The Argentinian finished brilliantly after being played through on goal by Cole Palmer, with Pep Guardiola's side able to enjoy the remaining 70-plus minutes under no pressure.
