He was just expressing his love. But in the process, the 24-year-old Brazilian publicly acknowledged he’s gay, becoming the first out active pro player on the ATP Tour, the highest level of men’s tennis. “I didn’t think about it… I just wanted to post a picture with him,” Reis da Silva told The Athletic in his first interview since his birthday wish seen around the world.
