Prime Video’s beloved queer-inclusive TV series A League of Their Own has been cancelled. On 18 August, Deadline revealed that the previously green-lit second season would no longer move forward at the streamer.
While Prime Video refrained from making an official announcement, various reports have said the decision stemmed from the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA stikes.
In a statement on Instagram, the series’ co-creator Abbi Jacobson confirmed the dishearting cancellation news while also slamming the strike rumours. “What luck I have had to get to tell these stories and play this character I love so much.
What a rare thing in life. And so I am sad today,” she wrote. “To blame this cancellation on the strike, (which is an essential fight for fair wages, protections and working conditions, etc…) is bullshit and cowardly. “But this post isn’t about all that.
