Here’s when Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal’s LGBTQIA+ film All of Us Strangers is scheduled to hit UK cinemas. Based on the novel Strangers by Japanese novelist Taichi Yamada, the film follows screenwriter Adam (Scott) who navigates a new romance with his mysterious neighbour Harry (Mescal).
However things take a surprising turn when Adam comes across his dead parents (Jamie Bell and Claire Foy) who “appear to be living just as they were on the day they died, 30 years before.” Andrew Haigh, who previously received acclaim for Weekend (2011), 45 Years (2015), and his work on Looking (2014-2015), wrote and directed the British fantasy drama.
On 31 August, All of Us Strangers had its world premiere at the 2023 Telluride Film Festival in Chicago. The film received universal acclaim from critics, with many praising its moving story, Mescal and Scott’s chemistry, and Haigh’s directing.
It even earned a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Since its debut on the film festival circuit, news regarding its UK release date has been kept under wraps… until now.
