Prism Health offers ACA enrollment assistance
According to a new study by Smart Asset, Dallas County ranks among the least insured counties in the United States and is the seventh-least insured county in Texas, although it is the second-most populous.
The study indicates that 24.15 percent of Dallas County residents under the age of 65 lack health insurance. Texas remains the state with the highest number of uninsured residents at 21.7 percent, compared to the national average of 11 percent. Prism Health North Texas hopes to change those numbers by helping North Texas residents get enrolled in the Affordable Care Act. ACA enrollment ends Wednesday, Jan.
15, and Prism Health North Texas is once again offering free ACA enrollment assistance and navigation services for residents of 12 North Texas counties including Dallas, Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Henderson, Hurst, Kaufman, Navarro, Rockwall and Tarrant counties.
Prism has eight bilingual certified ACA navigators available to assist with enrollment in English and Spanish. Services offered by the navigators include helping to understand the insurance marketplace, selecting health plans that meet your family’s needs, locating in-network physicians, comparing health plans and assisting in enrollment of other health services like Medicaid, CHIP and SNAP.
