Big Brother viewers praise Hallie as she comes out as transgender before pronoun discussion
Big Brother viewers have praised Hallie for her bravery and openness after she told her fellow housemates that she is transgender.
During Monday 9 October’s episode of the ITV show, Hallie admitted that she felt as though she hadn’t been “100% authentic” on day one in the Big Brother house before opening up to her fellow housemates. “Hey guys, I just have something to say.
Yesterday I feel like I wasn't being 100% authentic in myself. I thought I'd let everyone know I'm trans, if you didn't know already,” she said as the group sat around the dining room table. “I just thought I'd make that loud and clear.
I'm a trans woman if you didn't know.” In response, 18 year old Hallie’s fellow contestants rallied around her and Chanelle declared: “Good for you.That's very brave of you.” After opening up to the Big Brother house, the 16 housemates went around the dining table and individually shared the pronouns that they go by and use to express their gender identity.
