Emmy winner Billy Porter has opened up about his divorce in a new interview. Back in July, a rep for the Pose star announced that he and his husband of six years Adam Smith, were calling it quits. “I can confirm that Billy Porter and his husband Adam Smith have made the sad decision to end their marriage after six years,” the rep told People. “The decision was an amicable and mutual one and was made after much consideration.
They continue to love and support each other as they embark on this next chapter. There will be no further comment from either parties and it would be appreciated if their privacy be respected.” Since announcing their split, Porter has remained relatively silent on the matter – until now.
In a recent interview with The Evening Standard, the Golden Globe nominee gave further insight into how he’s been navigating his very public break-up. “The whole world knows I’m getting a divorce!
