(Image via Warner Pioneer Corporation) Madonna shot a fabulous ad for Pepsi — Queen of Pop, don't ya know — back in 1989, one that arrived with as much hype as the Second Coming.

By the time it debuted, her then-controversial “Like a Prayer” music video was out, featuring Madonna in a slip kissing a Black Jesus and dancing meaningfully before burning crosses.

Pepsi got cold feet and vanquished its stunning ad, shot by Joe Pytka and choreographed by Vincent Paterson, to the vaults. Now that PepsiCo is turning 125, the brand has re-embraced Madonna and her ad, uploading it to their YouTube and promoting a re-airing of this and other iconic celeb-anchored ads during next week's MTV VMAs.
