The late Dame Maggie Smith’s reaction to BenDeLaCreme’s Snatch Game impersonation has finally been revealed. On 27 September, the legendary actress, who captivated the world with her performances in Downton Abbey and the Harry Potter franchise, passed away.
Smith’s sons, Chris Larkin and Toby Stephens, revealed that their mother died in the early morning while staying in a London hospital via a statement by her publicist Clair Dobbs. “She leaves two sons and five loving grandchildren who are devastated by the loss of their extraordinary mother and grandmother,” they wrote.
Over the past week, tributes from an array of her entertainment peers – including Judi Dench, Emma Roberts, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint –have flooded social media.
Smith was also memorialized by Drag Race star BenDeLaCreme, who iconically portrayed the former in season six’s Snatch Game challenge. “It wasn’t until late yesterday that I got the news of Maggie Smith’s passing, and when I did, it was in the form of one million texts and DMs.
