Gwen Walz, the first lady of Minnesota and wife of the state’s governor and Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, spoke at an LGBTQ fundraiser Monday night at the law offices of Cohen Milstein in D.C.
Vice President Kamala Harris “and Tim know that it’s so important to have leaders who see you and who stand with you, and that’s why, throughout their entire careers, they have been staunch allies” of the LGBTQ community, Walz said.
She continued, “They were both early and vocal defenders of marriage equality. They both fought to make life safer for LGBTQ+ communities, and they both will never rest until full equality for all is the law of this land.” However, “our opponents in this race see things a bit differently,” Walz said. “Trump and Vance are not fighting for everyone.
And what they’re offering them with their Project 2025 agenda, no one is asking for. Especially when it comes to reproductive freedom.
