Ana Garcia (she/her) – Philanthropy Assistant As a UC Berkeley alumni, Ana Garcia comes to NCLR after working for the Pacific School of Religion.

She’s committed to working on issues that concern youth development and is inspired by the legal work that NCLR does on behalf of LGBTQ kids. Where do you currently reside? Oakland, CA What is your educational background? Graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in English and Religious Studies, and the University of San Francisco with an MA in Education Where did you work before this? Pacific School of Religion What brought you to NCLR? I was motivated by NCLR’s mission of social justice and equity during this pivotal time in our country’s history. What are you most looking forward to as you start your position? I want to continue developing as a development professional and I look forward to seeing how the philanthropy department overlaps and interacts with different aspects of NCLR work. What issues are you most passionate about? I am really committed to youth development.

The work NCLR is doing right now for education and legal protection for queer youth in this country means a lot to me. Do you have any goals for 2023 personally and professionally? Professionally I would like to become even more proficient at Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge.

I would like to continue becoming more confident in myskin. What do you like to do outside of work? I am a crafty person!
