Sir Sweeney barbers Sir Sweeney Barbershop and Lounge queers up Victory Park STEVEN LINDSEY | Contributing writer stevencraiglindsey@gmail.com You may not hear any Stephen Sondheim coming from the speakers when you settle into your chair, but once you’re done at Sir Sweeney Barbershop and Lounge, you’re going to want to give your barber a standing ovation.
The luxury men’s barbershop made its debut in February, and it was an instant hit. When I visited in April for a full slate of pampering services, every station was occupied, and the small lobby area provided a lounging space for additional customers who’d arrived early for their scheduled appointments.
Perhaps it’s because they knew they’d be treated to delicious, locally sourced pressed fruit and vegetable juices or coffee drinks while they waited.
Or maybe, like me, they are fascinated watching so many skilled stylists work their follicular magic like less awkward Edward Scissorhandseses.
