Madonna is ready to judge! After teasing that something would be happening earlier in the weekend, the 65-year-old “Like a Prayer” pop icon and longtime ally of the LGBTQ+ community made a surprise appearance at the 2024 LadyLand Festival on Saturday night (June 29) at Under The K Bridge Park while celebrating NYC Pride in Brooklyn, New York City.
Just before 1 AM on Sunday (June 30), the Queen of Pop hit the main stage at the festival to judge the Vogue Ball House Battle alongside celeb judges Bob the Drag Queen (who joined her on the Celebration Tour), “Hung Up on Tokischa” collaborator Tokischa, Arca and Sevdaliza. Keep reading to find out more… Dressed in a white jumpsuit (which she showed off on TikTok), Madonna gleefully threw up her scores and laughed alongside the judges as four Houses duked it out on front of her in a fierce vogue battle, MCed by Legendary‘s Dashaun Wesley, Kevin Prodigy and DJ MikeQ.
Stars like Julia Fox and Honey Dijon watched from the VIP section as the Houses danced throughout the night, with Madonna eventually hitting the runway to deliver a brief speech to the crowd and thank everyone for coming. “Aside from my birthday, New York Pride is the most important day of the year,” she told the cheering crowd at the end of the battle. “Divas to the dance floor, please!!!
