Ben Platt has revealed the status of his Netflix series The Politician. Between 2019 and 2020, the Emmy, Tony and Grammy-winning actor memorably starred in the “chaotic” dramedy as Payton Hobart, an ambitious 20-something politician who is determined to become the President of the United States.
While The Politician was met with mixed reviews from critics, it earned eight Primetime Emmy Award nominations and two Golden Globe nominations – including Best Actor for Platt – and gained a passionate fanbase as a result of its ensemble cast and refreshing LGBTQIA+ representation.
In 2020, creator Ryan Murphy revealed that the series will come to an end with its third season, which would film years later so Platt can “get a little bit older for his final race”, but details ever since have been scarce.
