Global LGBTQ+ networking platform myGwork is returning with an “action-packed” WorkPride conference this summer. #WorkingWithPride, the theme of this year’s five-day conference, will include over 200 international speakers across more than 50 sessions.
Delivered in both English and Spanish, it is scheduled to take place between 19-23 June. Each year, WorkPride welcomes thousands across the world virtually to “network, share best practices and learn strategies to help create workspaces that are inclusive of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions.” myGwork’s recent study revealed that discrimination, sadly, remains high for LGBTQ+ people across all working age groups.
This is despite increasing rates of allyship and role models in the workplace. Seven in 10 of LGBTQ+ women and non-binary people at work experience discrimination, and the number is higher for those with intersectional experiences from marginalised communities and ethnic minority groups.
Additionally, 70% have left their workplace for failing to be inclusive and equitable. This year’s WorkPride will raise awareness of the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ professionals and provide guidance on how to improve belonging and inclusion at work.
