'Resilient' candlelight vigil held in Manchester for Transgender Day of Remembrance
As the rain continued to batter down across Greater Manchester on Monday evening, a defiant sea of candles and lit up phone screens could still be shown brightly in unison within the city's Gay Village.
To coincide with Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20, members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies came together to remember the lives lost over the past year and to listen to stories from one another.
It was a chance to keep the memories alive of the likes of Alice Litman and Corei Hall, as well as Brianna Ghey, who died in Warrington’s Culcheth Linear Park just nine months ago.
The 16-year-old trans teen had been known to help a number of trans people safely and legally seek advice and support as they went on their own personal journeys.
