Manchester has been shortlisted for five awards celebrating the LGBTQ+ community ahead of the star-studded Gaydio Pride Awards event next year.
After swathes of nominations across 13 categories, the shortlist for the 2024 Gaydio Pride Awards, held at the iconic Hilton hotel on Deansgate, honours the work of charities, people and organisations who dedicate their efforts to better LGBTQ+ lives in the UK.
It has been officially announced that Manchester has five nominations across four categories, including popular queer rave that focuses on 'amplifying the voices of trans+, non-binary and POC individuals' and iconic nighttime venue in the Gay Village. Queer rave 'Your Dad Sells Avon' was shortlisted for Venue or Event of the Year, as was Vanilla, on Sackville Street.
Nonbinary Drag Queen Lucky Roy Singh was shortlisted for LGBTQ Influencer of the Year with Boohoo. Also shortlisted was the Coop Respect Network for the Pride Network of the Year and rugby team The Transmanian Devils for the LGBTQ Sports Club or Team.
