Netflix has unveiled the first set of photos from Andrew Scott’s new show Ripley. Based on Patricia Highsmith’s best-selling novels, the upcoming series follows Tom Ripley (Scott), a struggling grifter living in 1960s New York.
His life is forever changed when he gets hired by a wealthy man to bring his “vagabond son” back from Italy. “Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder,” the synopsis adds.
The eight-episode limited series is created, written and directed by Oscar-winning screenwriter Steven Zaillian, who previously received acclaim for Schindler’s List (1993), Awakenings (1990), Gangs of New York (2002) and The Irishman (2019).
In addition to Scott, Ripley is set to star Johnny Flynn (Emma) as the rebellious and wealthy Dickie Greenleaf, whom Tom is tasked with bringing home.
