A teenager whose parents called her Ikea has changed her name after being bullied. Jasmine Dagless, 19, was named Ikea after her mum, Linda saw an advert on television for the Swedish furniture giant while she was pregnant and liked it.
After she was born Jasmine's parents Linda and dad Bradley, even got a free sofa from the furniture store after they found out about her name - but she says she spent years being miserable as people at school taunted her over it.
Jasmine was dubbed 'flat pack' by school bullies who would cruelly poke fun about her unusual name. After decades of insults, Ikea legally changed her name to Jasmine in 2014, when she was 12, although she says her family still call her by her birth name.Speaking of her decision she said: "I used to get called flat pack quite a lot at primary school."The bullying really shocked me because young children don't know about Ikea.
