He bought the Miss Universe brand of beauty pageants in 1996, and sold it in 2015. He produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television series, from 2003 to 2015. As of 2020, Forbes estimated his net worth to be $2.1 billion.[

Un estudio divulgado por la Asociación Nacional de Travestis y Transexuales (ANTRA), revela que 122 personas trans y travestis fueron asesinadas en Brasil en 2024.

Este número representa una pequeña disminución en comparación con 2023, año en el que se registraron 145 muertes. La mayoría de las muertes registradas en Brasil son de mujeres trans o travestis, que corresponden al 93,3% de las víctimas.

El resto de las víctimas, el 6,7%, son hombres trans. La mayoría tenía entre 26 y 35 años (36,8%), era de raza parda (36,5%) o negra (26%) y era trabajadora sexual.

El dossier resalta que, por 16º año consecutivo, Brasil continúa siendo el país con el mayor número de asesinatos de personas trans en el mundo.
