However, Monday's report notes that in the 2021-2022 calendar budget year, the number of gender-affirming surgery requests among inmates increased by 99 to 270.CalMatters reported that the new budget documents estimate that 348 gender-affirming surgeries will be carried out this year, and at least 462 will be performed next year.
