There was a twist in store as Coronation Street aired its first - successful - gay wedding as Paul Foreman and Billy Mayhew finally got their church dream.
Viewers of the ITV soap previously saw Paul disappointed to discover that he and archdeacon Billy couldn't have any religious music at their nuptials at the Bistro.
But to fulfil Billy's faith, and to show his love for his now-husband, Paul set about a plan to make sure they both got their own church wedding experience.
It all began at No.5 with Gemma Winter-Brown and Bernie Winter helping Paul prepare for his wedding, whilst In the bistro, the wedding guests take their seats.
