Kurtis Antoine Perminter, who began his career as an executive assistant at some of the D.C. area’s most prominent businesses before switching gears to become a highly acclaimed event promoter for local nightlife venues, died on July 4 at the age of 41.
A write-up on his life and career released by Impulse Group DC, a nonprofit event promoting organization that provides support and services for the LGBTQ community, did not provide a cause of death.
Michael Stratton, one of Perminter’s friends, said he believes Perminter had been in the hospital for pneumonia shortly before his passing.
The Impulse Group DC write-up says Perminter was born and raised in Queens, N.Y., and at a young age had a love for music and dance.
