Everything Everywhere All At Once triumphed at the SAG Awards on Sunday (26 February), cementing its place as the frontrunner for the upcoming Academy Awards in the process.
The Daniels’ queer sci-fi epic, which follows a Chinese immigrant (Michelle Yeoh) as she connects with parallel universe versions of herself to save the multiverse, won four awards – the most for any film in the SAG Awards’ history.
Yeoh triumphed over Viola Davis, Ana de Armas, Danielle Deadwyler and current frontrunner Cate Blanchett for Best Actress, while Ke Huy Quan took home Best Supporting Actor.
They historically became the first Asian actors to win in individual categories. Elsewhere, Jamie Lee Curtis beat out Angela Bassett, Hong Chau, Kerry Condon and her Everything Everywhere All At Once co-star Stephanie Hsu for Best Supporting Actress.
