Prime Video has confirmed that the third season of fantasy comedy series Good Omens will be its last. On Thursday 14 December, the streamer announced via X (formerley Twitter) that the upcoming season will also be its last, though the airing date has yet to be confirmed. “We are ineffably elated to confirm that Good Omens will return for a third season!” the tweet said. “This calls for a round of hot chocolate and sweet treats!” The show, which is based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s book of the same name, will “bring to life a serendipitous conversation” between the two that took place 35 years ago in its third season.

Gaiman and the late Pratchett mapped out “what happens next” in the story of angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and Demon Crowley (David Tennant), the show’s production team said.

Gaiman will continue to write and executive produce the season finale. “I’m so happy finally to be able to finish the story Terry and I plotted in 1989 and in 2006,” he said. “Terry was determined that if we made Good Omens for television, we could take the story all the way to the end.

Season One was all about averting Armageddon, dangerous prophecies, and the End of the World. “Season two was sweet and gentle, although it may have ended less joyfully than a certain Angel and Demon might have hoped. “Now in season three, we will deal once more with the end of the world.
