ITV viewers have been reduced to tears just minutes into Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards. Hosts Carol Vorderman and Ashley Banjo hosted the prestigious event on Monday (October 21) evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London and the ceremony was broadcasted to the nation on Thursday (October 24) night.

The annual awards show, which marks its 25th anniversary this year, celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of everyday individuals from across the UK and honours those who have displayed extraordinary courage, performed random acts of kindness or overcome adversities.

However, it wasn't long before fans watching at home were left sobbing as the unsung heroes collected their well-deserved gong on stage.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: "3 minutes in and I'm crying already." Another added: "Tissue at the ready." A third person said: "Sobbing already." A fourth social media user person wrote: "Florrie is just absolutely incredible she is so positive considering what she is going through and is an inspiration." A fifth said: "Well, I’m sobbing and it’s only the first story with Florrie- 2 hours of this I’ll be in bits." Earlier this week, host Carol couldn't hold back her emotions as she welled up discussing a Pride of Britain winner's story on ITV's This Morning.
