Jamie Lee Curtis has recently spoken out in support of her daughter, Ruby Guest, 27, who publicly came out as trans in 2020.
Both conducted a joint interview the following year with People, where the actor referred to herself as a "grateful student".
While appearing on American talk show, Morning Joe, on Friday 28 July, the Everything Everywhere All At Once star talked passionately once again about defending her daughter, including how important it is to constantly be listening and learning. "This life is about love.
Being a parent is about love, and I love Ruby. Love her," the 64 year old said. She then added that people have told her she's "so great to accept her love," to which she straight up responded with: "What are you talking about?" "This is my daughter, this human being has come to me and said, 'This is who I am.' And my job is to say, 'Welcome home,'" she continued, before expressing that she "will fight and defend her right to exist to anyone who claims that she doesn't." Alongside this, the Golden Globe winner - who has always been an unapologetic trans ally - stressed how she's constantly trying to educate herself, and emphasised how vital it is for people to be willing to as well. "I'm trying to learn the most important thing is that I don't know everything," she said, while also referencing to her own sober journey.
