RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Jujubee is gleefully caught in the middle of it. Alaska Thunderf*ck’s hit show DRAG: The Musical, which started in Los Angeles and recently transferred to New York, is bringing the musical theater maven back to her roots (even if they include a lace front).

In addition to her multi-season appearances on RPDR, Jujubee has always loved style and beauty (she’s a former makeup artist for MAC cosmetics) and known for turning a look.

Now she’s turning pirouettes under the watchful eye of director-choreographer Spencer Liff. She plays The Tigress, a member of the Cathouse, a drag venue in jeopardy in the high-drama and high-camp musical conceived by Alaska and a team of co-creators.

The opportunity brings Jujubee back to one of her first loves (besides her kitty, of course) — theater. The show, which won the 2023 Queerties Award for Live Theater, has proven that the art of drag can take many forms, and Jujubee is relishing in the steady gig and enthusiastic audiences.
