This week’s ‘Traitors’ confirmed our worst gay fears after that shady Bob vs. Rob showdown
*CAUTION: Spoilers ahead for The Traitors Season 3 up through Episode 4, “I Will Bury You Under The Sand.”*After last week’s three-episode premiere of The Traitors Season 3, we reported on how, despite a cast stacked with LGBTQ+ icons, queer fans were worried the reality series was reaching dangerous levels of toxic male energy.And now that this week’s episode ended in the blindside & banishment of one of our beloved queer players—at the hands of the King Of The Bros, no less!—it turns out those concerns were pretty valid!Let’s get into it, shall we?It all began with a stunt that saw our Traitors (Bob The Drag Queen, Carolyn Wiger, Danielle Reyes, & Rob Mariano) secretly hand-select three players to sleep in coffins that night—in front of the whole cast—with one of them becoming their ultimate mark, while the other two would live to see another day.The next morning, when everyone discovers Survivor‘s Jeremy Collins has been offed, most are immediately suspicious of “survivors” Ciara Miller & Nikki Garcia.
It’d make sense the Traitors would but one of their own in a coffin to try to throw off the Faithfuls scent, right?Well, yes, but they were wrong.
And, thus far, it seemed like the coast was clear for the Traitors to sit back and watch the Faithfuls fight over which one of their own to banish…But then “Boston” Rob Mariano had to go and muck it all up!
During the week’s challenge, the slightest provocation from Bob the Drag Queen set him off, and suddenly the Survivor champ was setting his plan in motion to turn on one of his own. “Listen, we’re gonna take out the drag queen tonight,” Mariano told Dylan Efron, who was previously suspicious of Bob—and that inflammatory statement was all it took.
