Russell Tovey has celebrated his recent casting in the Doctor Who spin-off with a shirtless selfie. After attending Comic-Con over the weekend, where the spin-off was announced, the American Horror Story actor made his followers swoon as he showed off his buff physique (pic below!).

Tovey will lead the five-part series, The War Between The Land And The Sea, alongside Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who is best known for her roles in The Morning Show (2019), The Girl Before (2021) and Loki (2021-present).

The British actress also memorably starred in ‘San Junipero’, the widely-acclaimed Black Mirror episode that focused on a love story between two queer women in a simulated reality.

The War Between The Land And The Sea will follow a military organisation called UNIT. According to Variety, “the series picks up as a fearsome and ancient species emerges from the ocean, dramatically revealing themselves to humanity, an international crisis is triggered. “With the entire population at risk, UNIT steps into action as the land and sea wage war.” Showrunner, writer and executive producer Russell T Davies said: “I’m so lucky to work with such a magnificent cast.
