With Charli XCX and Billie Eilish’s remix for ‘Guess’, it’s now a sapphic brat summer. On 1 August, Charli released a new version of her addictive club banger, which features on the deluxe edition of her viral sixth studio album BRAT, with the ‘Lunch’ singer contributing flirtatious lyrics such as, “Charli likes boys but she knows I’d hit it” and “Charli, call me if you’re with it”.

The equally iconic music video, directed by Aidan Zamiri, starts with Charli performing the first verse at a raucous underwear party, before Eilish (literally) crashes into the building on a tractor.

After Eilish slays her verse, the duo strut down the street and take the party to an underwear pyramid/mountain. (Think Kylie Minogue’s ‘All the Lovers’ but with bras and knickers.) The ‘Guess’ remix and video was met with overwhelming praise – especially from sapphics, who have “combusted” over their chemistry and Eilish continuing to be unapologetically queer in her lyrics. “Billie and Charli rolling through a mountain of bras and panties!

Oh this is a lesbian fever dream,” one fan wrote on X/Twitter, while another tweeted: “What a moment to be a queer woman who enjoys pop music.” The undergarments in the video have reportedly been donated to ‘I Support the Girls’, an organisation that “collects and distributes essential items, including bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products, allowing women and folx experiencing homelessness, impoverishment, or distress to stand tall with dignity”. ‘Guess featuring Billie Eilish’ follows previous remixes from ‘BRAT’ such as ‘Von Dutch’ with Addison Rae and A.G.
