It's always a welcome sight when Scottish football makes its way on to popular dinner time show The Chase. And it was a history lesson for viewers of the exciting TV game show when contestant Kevin did not upset the Parkhead faithful by correctly answering the question: "Celtic's 1967 European Cup-winning football team were nicknamed the 'Lions' of which city?".
Up against the Dark Destroyer Shaun Wallace in an attempt to get the £5000 back to the team, Lisbon was the answer chosen by both contestant and chaser. It had host Bradley Walsh heaping praise on the infamous Jock Stein side that saw off Inter Milan to become the first team from Britain to achieve the feat in May of 67.
Walsh said: "You've put Lisbon. What a team! Good answer this then. The Lisbon Lions," before calling Stein by his given first name of John.Wallace was quick to remind the presenter of his Hoops history, saying: "Jock Stein," before correcting himself and Walsh hit back with: "Don't start.
Don't start all that old malarkey. The great John Stein. Nickname was Jock."The chaser then added: "It happened on the 25th of May 1967, they went 1-0 down to Inter Milan and I think Mazzola scored the penalty.
