Although all D.C. government agencies located in the city’s Reeves Center municipal building at 14th and U Street, N.W., will be moving out in November, the D.C.
LGBTQ+ Community Center, which has been located in that building for over 10 years, says it will remain there until its new office space in another building is ready to open.
Plans have been under way for several years to demolish the Reeves Center and replace it with a multi-million dollar redevelopment project that will include a mix of housing, office space, a hotel, and art, education, and retail space along with a public plaza and a 200-seat amphitheater, according to a recent report by the Washington Business Journal.
Among the city agencies scheduled to move out of the Reeves Center in November and to relocate to another city building at 899 N.
