Netflix has celebrated Heartstopper’s one year anniversary with a mysterious new teaser. On 22 April 2022, LGBTQ+ TV enthusiasts were finally treated to the eight-episode young adult series based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novel of the same name.

The show follows Charlie Spring (Joe Locke), a “high-strung, openly gay over-thinker,” and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), “a cheerful, soft-hearted rugby player”, as they explore their blossoming romantic relationship and the pressures of coming out.

Following its release, the series earned rave reviews from critics and received numerous accolades, including the Children’s and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Young Teen Series.

Due to its continued popularity, Heartstopper was renewed for not one but two additional seasons by the popular streamer. To celebrate the show’s one year anniversary, Netflix took to its social media channels to surprise fans with a special video message from the show’s cast.  “Heartstopper fans!
