Canada’s Drag Race champion Priyanka has shared her thoughts on appearing on the franchise’s next winners’ season. In a Reddit AMA (3 April), the inaugural winner of the aforementioned Canadian spin-off was asked by a fan if she’s still keen on showcasing her charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent for a shot at a second crown.
The first-ever winners’ season memorably aired in 2022, with Jinkx Monsoon defeating fellow legends Monét X Change, Shea Couleé, Trinity the Tuck, The Vivienne, Jaida Essence Hall, Yvie Oddly and Raja for the title of ‘Queen of All Queens’. “I don’t know.
I used to always say that I would love to do it and in 2023. I feel like it’s all I talked about,” said Priyanka. “But now I feel like if the opportunity comes up l’ll see where l’m at my life and see if I want to do it.” With her music career and upcoming appearance on the fourth season of We’re Here, Priyanka shared that there’s “so many other opportunities” for fans to see her in drag.
She credited season eight winner and former We’re Here star Bob the Drag Queen with inspiring her after holding “similar” views on the matter: “So, I feel like I would have to wait and see.” Since winning Canada’s Drag Race, Priyanka has garnered millions of streams for her debut EP Taste Test, which includes her viral collaboration with fellow alumni Lemon, ‘Come Through‘.
