Lady Gaga made a powerful statement in support of same-sex marriage and abortion rights during her Chromatica Ball show in Washington DC.
The sold out show took place at D.C’s Nationals Park Stadium. “I see a lot of people in this audience who know exactly who you are,” Gaga said whilst performing Born This Way. “This might not be the national anthem, but it’s our national anthem!” The pop superstar also made an important announcement when she started 2011 anthem Edge of Glory. “I would like to dedicate this song to every woman in America.
To every woman who now has to worry about her body if she gets pregnant. I pray that this country will speak up and we will not stop until it’s right!” she said.
Gaga is known for her continued support of the LGBTQ+ community. She exclaimed: “They better not try to mess with gay marriage in this country!” Her comments came after the Supreme Court overturning landmark legislation Roe v Wade.
